COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES MAY
4, 2010
The Commissioners met in special session on the above date at 1:00 p.m. in the
Commissioners Room, basement of the Elmore County Courthouse, 150 South 4th
East, Mountain Home, Idaho.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Connie Cruser, Commissioners Arlie Shaw
and Larry Rose. Also present was Prosecutor Kristina Schindele, Clerk Marsa
Plummer, Assessor Jo Gridley, Sheriff Rick Layher and Treasurer Rose Plympton.
The special session was called to discuss the proposed 2011 county budget.
Chairman Cruser asked Assessor Gridley to inform the current employee committee
that a new employee committee will be formed. No elected officials, department
heads, or supervisors will be members of the new committee.
The elected officials asked the Board if they wanted to maintain their request
for a 5% decrease in everybody’s budget. Current and projected revenues and
expenses were discussed. The officials stated their “B” budgets were cut
drastically last year and possibly the only place left to cut is wages.
Discussion followed in detail on the 5% decrease the Commissioners asked the
Elected Officials to review. Budget worksheets will be sent to the Departments
with a letter explaining what the Commissioners would like to see from every
department. Employee morale was discussed.
Motion by Cruser, second by Rose, to adjourn at 2:45 p.m.
