COMMISSIONERS MINUTES                                August 13, 2009



The Elmore County Commissioners met in special session at 10:20 a.m.on the above date in the Commissioners Room, basement of the Elmore County Courthouse, 150 South 4th East, Mountain Home, Idaho.

Present at the meeting were Chairman Larry Rose, Commissioners Arlie Shaw and Connie Cruser. Also present was Clerk Marsa Plummer.

The special session was held to work on the proposed 2010 budget.

The proposed 2010 Ambulance District Budget and Pest Abatement District budget were discussed.

The Justice Fund was reviewed. The Glenns Ferry Police Department budget will be incorporated into the Sheriff’s Department budget.

Sheriff Rick Layher and Chief Deputy Nick Schilz appeared before the Board and discussion followed on the budget shortfall for 2010.

Motion by Shaw, second by Cruser, to recess for lunch.

Regular session resumed. The Juvenile Probation budget was discussed.

At 2:30 p.m., motion by Shaw, second by Cruser, to recess and continue the meeting at City Hall to meet with Tom Rist, Mayor, City of Mountain Home.

Discussion followed on solid waste hauling between the Bennett Mountain Landfill/Transfer Station and Idaho Waste Systems located on Simco Road.

Motion by Shaw, second by Cruser, to adjourn at 2:30 p.m.
