MINUTES May
21, 2009
A special session was held on the above date at the Mountain Home Public
Library, 790 North 10th East, Mountain Home, Idaho. The special session was to
meet with the Mountain Home City Council to discuss City/County related issues.
Present at the meeting were Elmore County Commissioners Arlie Shaw and Connie
Cruser. Also present was City of Mountain Home Mayor Tom Rist, City Councilmen
Geoff Schroeder, Rich Urquidi, Russ Anderson and City Councilwoman Alain Isaac.
Also present were representatives from Glenns Ferry, Mayor Joanne Lanham, Dave
Pember and Joe Rowan, Elmore County Growth and Development Director Brent
Butler, Calvin Ireland and Larry Hall from the Mountain Home Highway District,
and guest speaker Terry Martin.
Terry Martin gave a very informative presentation about internet security.
Discussion followed on having Ms. Martin give a presentation to City/County
officials and Department Heads.
The Highway District discussed lack of stimulus funds.
Mayor Lanham reported on the $400,000 revitalization block grant that the City
of Glenns Ferry is receiving and also a possible economic development for Glenns
Ferry. Mayor Lanham thanked the County for the Emergency Services Building that
is almost complete in Glenns Ferry.
Commissioner Shaw and Commissioner Cruser discussed stimulus money and what
projects the County will be submitting.
Senior Centers were discussed.
Discussion followed on the Singapore dedication that was held at Mountain Home
Air Force Base.
The One Hundred Year Celebration of Glenns Ferry will be held on September 25th
and 26th. The Three Island Crossing will be held on the 2nd Saturday in August.
Discussion followed on the impact area and a report should be available at the
next City/County meeting that will be held on July 16, 2009 at the hour of 6:00
p.m. at the Mountain Home Library.
