Commissioner Shaw discussed a proposed mosquito abatement district. He reported a public hearing could be held and an emergency district could be formed with an election to follow in November. Assessor Jo Gridley advised the Commissioners on the number of parcels and suggests multiplying that number by 1.5 to calculate the number of property owners in the County. This number can be used to estimate the number of signatures needed for a petition to establish a mosquito abatement district. Dates and restrictions were discussed on declaring an emergency mosquito abatement district.

The Commissioners found that the revenue report is not correct. Teri Lasuen from the Treasurer’s office showed that the collections are up to date, so the clerk will work towards correcting the error and run a corrected revenue report.

Commissioner Shaw leaves the session.
