COMMISSIONERS MINUTES JUNE 30, 2005

The Elmore County Commissioners met in special session on the above date in the Commissioner’s Room, basement of the Elmore County Courthouse, 150 South 4th East, Mountain Home, Idaho.
Present at the meeting were Chairman Larry Rose, Commissioners Mary Egusquiza and Connie Cruser. Also present at the meeting were Clerk Gail Best and Deputy Auditor Merrilee Hiler.
The purpose of the special session was to conduct budget workshops.
Dan Collins, Plant Facilities Manager, presented his budget to the Board. There was discussion.
Tom Gibbon, Chief of Security, presented his budget to the Board. There was discussion and several changes were made.
A letter received from the Humane Society was discussed. Present for the discussion was Teri Kaptein, Deputy Prosecutor, Sheriff Rick Layher and Chief Deputy Sheriff Nick Schilz. A reply to the letter will be sent by Ms. Kaptein.
There was a work session for the Commissioner’s budgets. Work shops were held for the following budgets: General Expense, County Fuel, Health and Sanitation, Junior College, Warrant Redemption, Ambulance, Tort, Campus Expansion, Hammett Park, Solid Waste, PILT, and Commissioners. During work on the Commissioner’s budget there was discussion about how long the agenda are for the regular meetings, making it impossible to get through the agenda without staying late into the night, and having numerous special meetings. A decision was made to meet every Monday instead of two regular meetings per month, beginning with the month of October.
Motion by Egusquiza, second by Cruser, to adjourn.
