COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES JUNE 2, 2004
The Elmore County Commissioners met in special session on the above date in the
Commissioner’s Room, basement of the Elmore County Courthouse, 150 South 4th
East, Mountain Home, Idaho. The purpose of the special meeting was to discuss an
easement owned by Elmore County.
Present at the meeting were Chairperson Mary Egusquiza-Stanek, and Commissioners
Larry Rose and Calvin Ireland. Also present at the meeting were Clerk Gail Best
and Prosecutor Aaron Bazzoli.
Commissioner Ireland stated he felt the meeting should be called to discuss the
issue of the County’s easement and the site preparation being done by the Desert
Sage Health Center. Commissioner Ireland stated he was very concerned because
construction is being done at the site, including some work being done on the
easement owned by Elmore County. Commissioner Ireland stated at this meeting the
Board should decide how they want to move forward before it is too late to
minimize the damage.
The Board placed a call to Russ Moorhead of Lombard and Conrad to discuss the
options. Chairperson Egusquiza-Stanek asked how large a pipe would the County
need and Mr. Moorhead stated he felt the County should have a 10 inch pipe.
Various scenarios and options were discussed with Mr. Moorhead. The Board
thanked Mr. Moorhead for his time.
There was further discussion and the Board directed the Prosecutor to write a
letter to Mr. Davies of the Medical Design Group stating that the Board had
decided to maintain their easement and wanted the Medical Design Group and their
contractors to honor the existence of the easement.
The meeting was recessed for a trip to the site.
The Prosecutor wrote a letter for review by the Board to the Desert Sage Health
Center regarding the construction and the easement. Minor changes were made.
Commissioner Ireland got a map from the City of the planned construction of the
Health Center which was also reviewed.
Motion by Rose to have the Chairperson sign the letter the Prosecutor prepared
dealing with the Desert Sage Health Center and the easement, second by Ireland.
